The Jazz 80 is the latest masterpiece from Cayin. This handmade tube amplifier enhances the wireless music experience while adhering to Cayin's high-quality standards.
With its robust design and meticulous craftsmanship using carefully selected components, the Jazz 80 immediately impresses. Its deep, glossy finish not only exudes elegance but also protects its valuable electronic components. However, what truly catches the eye is the alignment of its eight tubes.
Design and Technical Features
At the rear are four KT88 power tubes, responsible for amplification. At the front, four smaller tubes play complementary roles:
- The 12AX7 tubes in the center function as preamplifiers, amplifying incoming signals.
- The 12AU7 tubes on the outside act as phase splitters and drivers for the KT88 tubes.
To protect these components, a metallic cage in the same color as the housing has been added. This modern and functional design ensures optimal protection against mechanical damage. Additionally, the Jazz 80 rests on four shock-absorbing feet, enhancing stability and isolation.
Modern Bluetooth Connectivity
Thanks to an integrated Bluetooth module, the amplifier can wirelessly connect to compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, or televisions. Once the Bluetooth input is selected, the Jazz 80 identifies itself as "Cayin HD BT". It uses the LDAC codec for high-resolution audio transmission at up to 990 kbps, ensuring exceptional sound quality, especially for Android smartphones running version 8.0 or higher.
Flexible Operating Modes
The Jazz 80 offers two amplification modes:
- Triode Mode: 2 x 20 watts, delivering a soft and warm sound.
- Ultralinear Mode: 2 x 40 watts, for more power and dynamic range.
Switching between modes is easily done using a toggle switch located in front of the 12AX7 tubes.
Power Supply and Bias Adjustment
The amplifier features a sophisticated power supply with a filter choke, ensuring stability and optimal sound quality. Three additional toggle switches allow precise bias adjustment for each output tube, ensuring perfect channel balance and maximum performance.
Intuitive Operation
- Power On: A side-mounted switch activates the Jazz 80. Once the soft start process is complete (indicated by a steady LED), the device is ready.
- Input and Volume Selection: Can be controlled via rotary knobs on the front panel or the included aluminum remote control.
Customization Options
Cayin offers four Jazz 80 versions:
- KT88 tubes or EL34 tubes for distinct sound profiles.
- Black or Silver finish to suit your aesthetic preferences.
